Training - 3 -Phase Trauma Model
Trauma is often referenced as particular events (such as physical or sexual abuse, car accidents, etc.). But trauma is just as much (or even more so) that the event has on the nervous system and body. Trauma comes with survival states, such as fight, flight, freeze, disconnect and flop that often show themselves in the therapy room. It is vital that as counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, mental health professionals, teachers, GP's, nurses, and any other mental health professional, that we learn to recognise these survival responses in clients, so that we can increase the therapeutic safety.the impact
In this training you'll be taught the 3-phase trauma model and how you can put it in practice:
1. Establishing a sense of safety (physical and emotional), building a therapeutic relationship and managing post-trauma symptoms.
