About the event
Training - Creative Ways of Working in Trauma (NCPS Quality Checked)
Creativity can be a beautiful way to find an alternative of communicating with traumatised clients, as it bypasses the 'logical' cognitive brain. It gives clients a chance to verbalise that which cannot be verbalised. It can be very powerful. We will cover various principles to incorporate creativity in a safe way with traumatised clients.
This day you will be introduced to working with Playmobil figures, as they represent different family members, friends or other relations, as well as parts of the self. Survival states can be visualised with Playmobil figures and be used in an interactive way. It allows the client to explore what is going on for them on the inside from a slightly more distant perspective. We therefore use 'third-party' language and how it relates to parts: "I wonder what is going on for that part there?"
