Foundation Diploma - Southend-on-Sea

Join our 60-hour integrative and experiential Foundation Diploma "Therapeutic Safety in Trauma" (NCPS Quality Checked), which works to build a solid foundation for any professional who works (or wants to work) with traumatised clients. This training is based on the 3-Phase Trauma Model and Polyvagal Theory. The 3-Phase Trauma Model (by Janet, Herman) explains that before we might process a traumatic memory or feeling, we have to establish a level of safety first before potentially processing and integrating the traumatic experience. Polyvagal Theory (by Porges, Dana), explains there is a hierarchy to the way our nervous system works in its perception of safety and danger. We pick up signs of safety and danger through neuroception, and regulate ourselves initially through co-regulation.
